Coherence Therapy Training & Certification Program
Two 90-minute sessions with a Certified Trainer
Introductory Dyad Practicum (IDP) consists of two 90-minute training sessions in which two trainees meet with a Certified Trainer via teleconference video to do two practice sessions of Coherence Therapy with real-time coaching.

‍Each trainee experiences being the therapist once and the client once.  The purpose of IDP is to provide an initial experience of Coherence Therapy for therapists, counselors, or clinical graduate students who have an introductory-level familiarity with it from readings or an introductory presentation.

‍A recording of each IDP session may be made by each of the two trainees via Zoom on their own computer.  The Trainer also records the session for the confidential archive of the Coherence Psychology Institute.  INFORMED CONSENT: By submitting this request for IDP, (a) you are granting permission for the other trainee to record each session, and (b) you are agreeing to protect the strict confidentiality of the recordings that you make, which means you agree they are solely for your own private viewing or listening and you agree not to share, post, or distribute the recordings in any way whatsoever.  Listening to your IDP session recordings enhances learning significantly.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS:  You may cancel your enrollment in Introductory Dyad Practicum and receive a refund until 10 days prior to the first of the scheduled meetings.  Your refund will be the tuition you paid minus a US$75 processing fee.  To cancel, send an email titled "Cancelling Introductory Dyad Practicum" to training.pgm@coherenceinstitute.org.​

MINIMUM PREREQUISITES

for participating in Introductory Dyad Practicum

Participation is only for mental health professionals or clinical graduate students who have an introductory-level familiarity with the methodology of Coherence Therapy from readings or an introductory presentation.

‍You must already have a basic understanding of:
  • production of symptoms by emotional learnings outside of awareness
  • working experientially
Requirements for graduate students:
  • Current enrollment in a graduate clinical or counseling program
  • Completion of a graduate course in Foundational Clinical Skills or Applied Clinical Skills (basic skills of empathic listening, emotional attunement, communication of accurate empathy, creating trust, creating a working alliance)
  • Having a setting in which you can use Coherence Therapy with current clients, a setting in which clients are seen under formal supervision
